Support of £1,000 given to good causes and local fundraisers

During December 2023 the Spoofers have contributed a further £1,000 to provide support to local funds and charitable causes, making the total of £2,274 for 2023.
More donations are planned for 2024 with causes already identified and other ideas being sought after.

Various amounts were agreed at our AGM to be made to :

Elsie’s Boxes and Christmas Hampers (2nd Donation)
Harry Richbell and Family
Penkridge & District First Responders (2nd Donation)
Shelter (Via Mary at Cross Keys) ;

It was agreed to make a second donation to Ian and Ruth Rowlands to further support their incredible effort to make the memory of Elsie the focus of their aim to help and assist families at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. They provide support with ‘Elsie’s Boxes’ of important and useful items and special Christmas Hampers to help families on Ward 11 at BCH.

Harry Richbell is a Penkridge resident who suffers with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and our donation will be used by the family to provide equipment to assist brave Harry in everyday tasks.

Penkridge & District First Responders are a Charitable Trust providing equipment and volunteers to respond to urgent cases on behalf of West Midlands Ambulance Service. They also work to install Defibrillators in the local communities and provide support and training in their use.
Our donation to the group contributes to ensure operational costs continue to be met and equipment is provided for the Volunteer Responders to be kitted out safely.

During the 2023 Annual Championships, the group made a donation to Shelter via Mary, the Landlady of the Cross Keys. This supported a fund raising day for the charity during December and the donation was added to the collection made on the day.
Mary always provides excellent hospitality for our various meetings and games of Spoof with the inaugural Annual Championships being held there in 2014 and then every year from 2017 to 2023.
